Well hello everyone!! I know that it has been a while since I have put anything on this blog but I do have a good excuse. Some of you may know everything that I am about to share and some of you may not, but here it goes. It has been a long journey the past several months throught one of the most difficult trails that I have ever had to face. Thankfully, I did not have to go through it alone!!!
I have been battling with depression for almost a year now and boy has it been rough. I used to hear people say that they went through depression and thought, "They need to just pull themselves up and get over it." Well, I should not have judged because I have been through something that I would never want anyone to have to go through. I won't go into great detail but I will say that the Lord is faithful, powerful, healer, friend, daddy, comforter, just, right, in control, and so much more. He has shown me so much about myself and about himself that I would have never learned if not going through depression. If you were to ask me what is the worse thing that you have gone through, I would say, "depression." If you were to ask me what is the best thing that has ever happened to you, I would say, "depression." The Lord is still showing me so much and teaching me how to renew my mind with his word.
I can gladly say that I have been healed by my powerful healer and am feeling much better today. I rejoice that God has chosen to heal me. I know that at anytime he has the power to heal and he has the power to have me stuggle again. The one thing that I have learned about Him is that he controls everything!!!! He controls my desires, breath, movement of my body, will, ect. He is a powerful God and I never fully understood that until now. Well, I will never fully understand it but He is a gracious God. I am so grateful that I had Tommy to help me through too. He was absolutly wonderful through all of this.
Tommy is doing well. He is busy with work at Fastenal and work at the church. He loves his ministry at Baxter and I love getting to see him grow in learning how to minister to the people there and how to be a better worship leader. He is eating it up!!!! We had the opportunity to go on a weekend get away to southeastern Kentucky. We went to Cumberland Falls and it was so beautiful. It was a prayer gettaway without Caleb. It was much needed and we had a blast. We went Canoeing in 60 degree weather and were the only crazy people that were scheduled to canoe. The bus carried one canoe 20 miles away just for us. It was so funny. We said that they lost money because of us. Here are some pics of our trip.
